Jane Austen Sequels- Darcy’s Temptation: A Sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, by Regina Jeffers

There has been no one better to weave a timeless love story than Jane Austen, and her characters in Pride and Prejudice have inspired millions of different takes on the opposites attract theory. In fact, there have been several sequels to the original written, including Pemberly by the Sea, and the newest by Regina Jeffers, Darcy’s Temptation.

Darcy’s Temptation is unique in that it is told from his point of view. Regina Jeffers has really captured the spirit of Mr. Darcy and as the book opens, we see that Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy are still together. As the book progresses, it details the first year or their marriage, showing how Darcy would of course, choose Elizabeth again were he given the chane to do so. The love displayed in Pride and Prejudice is a love of ages, and Regina Jeffers only compounds this feeling with her excellent writing and detailed plots.

It feels as though she knew exactly where Austen wanted to take her characters and fans of the original will absolutely adore the direction Jeffers has taken their familiar characters. The main draw of Darcy’s Tempation is the fact that Jeffers is able to capture the spirit of each character so well. There have been many sequels written to Pride & Prejudice, but rarely do they capture the same writing style that Austen intended for her audience.

If you enjoyed Pride & Prejudice and you’re looking to continue the story, then Darcy’s Temptation is a great place to start. Out of the countless sequels that are available, it is the most cohesive and will leave you feeling as though you are reading something written by Jane Austen herself.

Other Pride & Prejudice sequels really can’t hold a candle to what Regina Jeffers is doing, and with more works on the way, it seems as though this will be an ongoing series of sequels.

Regina Jeffers is the author of eight novels: most are well done Pride and Prejudice sequels and adaptations. Her most recent novel, is entitled The Phantom of Pemberley: A Pride and Prejudice Murder Mystery, is due out later this year and will undoubtedly build on the previous success of her other 7 published works: Second Chances: the Courtship Wars, Darcy’s Temptation, Darcy’s Passions, Darcy’s Dreams, Wayward Love: Captain Frederick Wentworth’s Story, Honor and Hope, and Vampire Darcy’s Desire.
