Jane Austen Sequels: The Novels of Linda Wells
Linda Wells has a deep passion for Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. She spent many years appreciating the work of other on the JA fanfiction boards and wondering at the many talented writers those boards supported. Their works, she reasoned, were worthy of praise and their talents much appreciated by the growing community.
When she got the notion to become a contributor to the community, she began her first novel, Chance Encounters, a Regency fanfiction sequel which had Darcy and Elizabeth meeting at the theater in London rather than in Meryton. Her work was an instant success on the boards and was later published and made available for sale online at Amazon.com.
With her first novel’s success, came the inspiration for a second story. Fate and Consequences, another Pride and Prejudice Regency sequel, followed shortly there after. This time her plot was centered on the elopement of Georgiana Darcy. Georgiana’s fall from society and the scandal that ensued around the Darcy name. Again came success and her work was much admired and loved.
Wells’ third novel, a modern Pride and Prejudice sequel entitled The Perfect Fit, was released in September of 2009. This Darcy and Elizabeth nearly come to blows over a pair of designer shoes, but ultimately begin a winding road towards love.
She is currently writing another P & P fanfiction story, Memory, which is a Darcy and Elizabeth prequel to the original novel. This story is her best yet, and really breaks new ground with our most beloved couple. You can read her new work in progress story for free, once you have registered at Meryton.com.
